“THE DIRECTOR.” a poem, a.k.a.: “A Tribute To D. Andrew Alegria and The Promise of Choir Music.” December 10, 2019 (Tuesday)
The most famous “maestro” in our land,
Is: Dr.Alegria* of “The Choral Band.”
His fame has spread to Paris, France,
And local musicians (may) take the chance,
To travel with Him on His “Ride,
Of Musical Intrigue.”
Yes, WE HAVE FLIED,
TO THE MOON, The Moon AND BACK AGAIN,
With Lauridsen and Rutter** we have been,
Examining “the essence” of each lyrical star;
Together we travel, oh, so far,
And search The Cosmos for a better way,
To glorify each shining, poignant day,
With Our Director at the Head.
“Flat notes and bad rhythms? Hah, (pause) to us they are dead.”
“Come fly with me,” says Andrew true;
“We will be famous, me and you;
To France (and The Heavens) we SHALL ASCEND,
And, from little Alpine we shall send:
LOVE and GLORY and sparkling song,
As famous we (may) become, proud and strong.”
From Alpine, Marfa, Ft. Davis and BEYOND,***
Dr. Alegria shall wave his magic wand,
And magic shall strike each stellar chord,
Glorifying and exalting,
All Life and The Lord.
