God needs you to understand ~

It’s easy to start thinking that we’ve seen our best days when our business slows down, a person walks away, or a plan fails. But the Scripture says, “The path of the righteous gets brighter and brighter until full day” – Proverbs 4 verse 18. What God has in front of you is more fulfilling and rewarding than anything you’ve seen in the past. But sometimes before it gets brighter, it gets darker. There are times when He’s shaking things up to move you out of the good into the best. If He didn’t close those doors, you wouldn’t see the fullness of your destiny. We may not like the process, but that disappointment, the breakup, or the slow season won’t stop what God has for you. It’s getting you in a position for a favour that you’ve never seen.

In John 2, Jesus was at a wedding celebration in Galilee that lasted several days. Everything was going great until they ran out of wine. Up to this point, Jesus had not performed any miracles in public, but He told the staff to fill six large waterpots with water. I can imagine them thinking, “What good is that going to do”? But they filled the waterpots, and then Jesus said to them, “Dip some out and take it to the host of the wedding”. When the host tasted the water that was now wine, he said to the bridegroom, “Everyone serves the best wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now”.

Notice how God works: If they had not run out of the good wine that they were used to, they would never have tasted the best wine. God saves the best for next. You may feel like you’re running out of opportunities, like what used to work is not working and you’re running out of favour like you’re running out of the resources to make ends meet. This may sound odd, but you’re in a good place. When you come to the end, God steps in and says, “I’ve saved the best for now”. The best position, the best relationships, the best in your finances, the best in your health is yet to come.

Jesus says, “You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you, there is more of God and his rule” – Matthew 5 verse 3. When you’ve run out of options and you don’t have any more wine, God shows up and gives you the best wine. It’s more than you can imagine – greater influence, favour, blessings, and increase. You’re going to look back and say as that host did, “You saved the best until now”!

Life is like a bunch of roses. Some sparkle like raindrops. Some fade when there's no sun. Some just fade away in time. Some dance in many colors. Some drop with hanging wings. Some make you fall in love. The beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Life you can be sure of, you will not get out ALIVE.(sorry about that)
