Dear Lord Jesus,
As I scroll social media and watch the breaking news headlines on the TV screen, I recognize that troublesome times are here, and men’s hearts are failing for fear of what is taking place in the world.
Lord, please put Your peace in my heart.
I’m worried and anxious.
My mind races and obsesses.
I can’t help thinking about the problems of the world and my own personal problems —
And the more I think about them, the more depressed I become.
I feel like I’m sinking down in quicksand and can’t get out.
Calm me, Lord.
Slow me down, put Your peace in my heart.
No matter what problems I have, Lord, You are bigger, You are more powerful than it is.
So I bring my problems to You. I know what I want. I know my will. I do not know Yours.
I do not know how You will use these problems for my salvation.
I do not know what good You will workout from this evil.
But I trust You. I trust Your goodness and Your wisdom.
So I place myself in Your hands. Please fill my heart with peace, love and understanding.
Lord, I know that unless my hope is in You, I too will find that worldwide events that are currently taking place will cause me to faint from fear.
Keep my heart fixed on You I pray, and keep me looking to You each moment of the day and help me to trust implicitly in Your Word.
Overshadow me and all those I love with Your love and grace, and draw each one of us into an ever deepening relationship with Yourself and a ever deepening desire to know You more and to serve You better with each passing day.
I need You Lord, I love You….
In Jesus’ Name I Pray….
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually!
(1 Chronicles 16:11)
God is our refuge and strength,
always ready to help in times of trouble.
