Gods Gift

Gods Gift ~ Patience

Reading from Job 23:10 which is one of the most powerful verses I like, it says that “When he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.”
Through the years God helped me realize and unearth many talents which I didn’t know I have through challenges… one of them is counseling, motivating, and helping other people… this has been my passion ever since I realized that it’s a gift God gave me to serve others. In various ways through it all He has changed my life in ways I cannot even begin to imagine. Last year a friend shared with me his life experiences and he said a statement that got stuck on my mind for a while… he was going through a rough patch, he was overwhelmed as he tried to balance his demanding work life which was hanging in the balance as his company was going through a rough period, his spiritual life was not so good, he had all kinds of marital issues draining his energy, financial challenges and fatherhood as well. Reflecting on his distress, he said, “I felt like God was taking me through a refining season, almost through a crushing process.” That statement made a lot of sense even in my own life…
It reminded me of Job who was once overwhelmed after losing his livelihood, health, and family. Worse still, although Job had been a daily worshiper of God, he felt that the Lord was ignoring his plea for help. God seemed absent from the landscape of his life. Job claimed he could not see God whether he looked to the north, south, east, or west Job 23:2–9. Amid his despair, Job had a moment of clarity. His faith flickered to life like a candle in a dark room. He said, “God knows the way that I take, when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold” Job 23:10. The same with us all, we are tried and purified when God uses adversity to burn away our self-reliance, pride, and earthly wisdom. If it seems as if God is silent during this process and not answering your cries for help, He may be giving you an opportunity to grow stronger in your faith.
Pain and problems can produce the shining, rock-solid character that comes from trusting God when life is hard. As you go about with your day you may be in deep challenges, be it financial, marital, social, all other kinds of challenges. May the Lord, help you believe that He is with you, even when you cannot see Him working in your life. Surrender yourself to His purpose for any suffering you may endure, the Lord is taking you through a refining season, and be sure to come forth as gold for His love endures forever. You may not endure on your own as it’s a crushing process but if we rely on God, to be strong and endure, your moment of clarity will come and you will realize that faith-testing times can be faith-strengthening times.
May the Lord be with you as you endure and allow the Lord to strengthen your faith through the various challenges we may be going through.
May the name of the Lord be praised always.
Stay blessed and may God be with you…
May He be with you.
