Mr Lutengau was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital and remains there under police guard.
Speaking at a media conference this afternoon, Acting Inspector Kevin Gant said specialist officers made the arrest.
“Today, as a result of our inquiries, we identified a possible location where that male could have been, as a result of that, a declaration was made under a PSPA act, for the immediate area,” Mr Gant said.
“A short time later, that male was arrested and taken into custody.”
Today’s emergency declaration was revoked at 4:22pm.
Yesterday, an exclusion zone was set up in Ormeau just after 10:00am, with police searching for a man they believed may have been armed with a gun.
Police said in a statement that officers were searching for Mr Lutengau as part of an investigation into an alleged domestic violence incident in Upper Coomera on Monday.
Ormeau State School was locked down, as well as several surrounding streets.
Acting Inspector Gant said police were expected to lay charges but investigations were still ongoing.
“[We’re] happy with obviously the safe resolution, he was taken into custody and everyone is OK,” he said.
“We take all threats seriously.”
