(BRISBANE) JUST IN: A 24-year-old Caboolture man has been charged over a double-shooting murder yesterday #AceNewsDesk report

Detective Superintendent Ben Fadian said: Police were still trying to work out a motive for the shooting: “ It appears the three men are known to each other … this was not a random incident and the community should not feel concerned about their own safety as a result of this,” he said: Witnesses told the ABC they saw paramedics working to revive one of the two men on the driveway’

Superintendent Fadian said: The area had been sealed off while the forensic examination of the scene continued and some people had been asked to vacate their homes:

“Accommodation’s been arranged for them [and] as soon as examination of the scene is completed they’ll be able to return to their residences,” he said.

Witnesses told police the man allegedly fled the scene in a Toyota Yaris.

About two hours later, the Caboolture man was arrested at a service station on Beenleigh Redland Bay Road at Cornubia.

Adam Bird, 24, was charged with two counts of murder, possess shortened firearm, unlawful possession of a weapons category A, B or M and authority required to possess explosives.

Police are also appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of the shooting, between 4:30pm and 5:30pm yesterday, to come forward.

“Especially anyone who has dashcam footage to please contact us … at Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and we can review that footage with them if they can provide it to us,” Superintendent Fadian said.

The man is due to appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Detectives seized the Toyota Yaris for forensic examination.

Investigations are continuing……
