Our parents and grandparents cared for us through our childhood, providing us with love, food, shelter and protection. Important decisions were made about ‘what is best for the children’ and they often put their own needs and pleasure aside to ensure that we had what we needed.
When a parent or grandparent is afflicted by Alzheimer’s it becomes time to repay that debt to those who cared for us when we were weak and vulnerable, difficult though it may be.
