“I DON’T KNOW (A LOVE STORY).” a poem for: Tuesday, October 8, 2019

“LIFE, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE.” “WhatChaWannaDoAboutThat?”

“I dunno know. (pause) Wait, I’ve got an idea. Let’s just get a cat.”

“WHAT DO YOU WANNA, WANNA DO?”

“I DO NOT KNOW; WHAT ABOUT YOU?”

“I dunno know either; why’re we discussing this?”

“I’ve no idea; I know; LET’S KISS.”

“Why are we kissing?” “I don’t know WHY.”

“Kiss me AGAIN, before you say Good Bye.”

“Why do you (always) think I’ll go?”

“I really DON’T (really) KNOW.”

“Let’s have a coffee; do you want one lump or two?”

“TWO; thank you, Dearest. Where are we going to?”

“I don’t know, and why we are together.”

“Maybe, it’s fate; I don’t know whether,

To kiss you or hold you very, very close.”

“Why are you [even] here?” “I want another dose,

OF YOU.” “Do you like me?” “Yes, I do,

And, when you’re NOT here, I feel so blue.”

“I wanna take care of you, even if you’re sick.”

“Me too. Me too. I think we’re ‘up the creek.’ “

“Well, I’ll be your paddle then, if you wanna splash around.”

“I wanna go with you; where are we two bound?”

“I don’t know, and I guess I don’t care.”

“Isn’t this dangerous?” “Yes, we should beware;

We might be hurt.” “I (pause) yes, OK,

But it might not happen, at least not today.”

“It’s a risk, isn’t it?” “YES. It is.”
