“FINDING CASH[E] IN THE DRAWER.” a poem for Sunday, October 6, 2019. a.k.a.: “A $5 Investment In Everyone’s Happiness.” in the poetic series: “Santa Rides Again.”

I GAVE AWAY a 5 “spot” just the other day;

I made me a $5 origami ring and just gave it away,

NOT to prove any point, NOT to be noticed by,

This pretty chocolate lady in The Check Out Lane.

“Oh, my,” said SHE, admiring the origami ring.

“Well, it’s YOURS.” “Oh, no, I couldn’t,” but I SAID (that) I FORGOT TO BRING,

A gift for your special, unnoticed last birthday,

“But, you don’t even know me.” “That’s right,” Idid say,

“So, here’s a ring.” She blushed just a little bit,

Although, with brown skinned beauties, it’s hard to tell a blush. “Does it fit?”

I asked. “Oh, yes, just perfectly nice,

And I explained, as I luxuriated in her SUGAR AND SPICE,

COLOGNE TEASE: “Think of me as your BOTTOM DRAW ER,

Where SOMETIMES you find LOST CASH(e) there (y’know, cash you DON’T drop on the floor),

AND, WHEN YOU FIND IT, IT’S SUCH A THRILL.

“Yes,” SHE said, “YouKnow you ain’t so bad, but certainly quiteThePill.”

So, we parted there, and I went on my way,

Driving all The Reindeer toward The Moon in my wonderful sleigh.
