“__IMMY.” a poem, a.k.a.: “I Want Peace.” Sept. 18, 2019 (Wednesday, KARAOKE NIGHT at The Railroad Blues.)

“My Perfect Chill-out Friend” found me and said: “I want peace, OK?

I’ve HAD ENOUGH of intrigue; it’s time to CHILL OUT all day;

Stay in an air conditioned room,

AndBePampered ’tilTheEndO’June,

ThroughToo TO THE YEAR’S END,

With A New Year’s Resolution (My Ever Peaceful Friend),

Of: NO ANGST – & CALM SAILING UPON A PLACID SEA;

You got me there, Baby?” (S)he saidThisAll withGlee.

Taken a-back, I took a back seat,

And I whispered in His(Her) ear [I’mAfraid it was less than a treat]:

(I said) “I can’t do it, Baby, althoughI kindO’ gotYourBack,

But THE WORLD OPER-ATES justLIKE IT’S ON ‘CRACK,’

About all I can give you, give YOU IS THIS:

Since The World is turning, and it won’t miss,

ANY OPPORTUNITY TO DISRUPT YOUR DAY,

To BREAK YOUR PEACE INTO AN INFERNAL DISARRAY,

What I (do) GOT for you is: SOMEONE TO FACE IT WITH;

THAT WOULD BE ME, my cheeky, ___immy Mr./Miss (pronounced: Myth.).

I’d like to hold your hand and kiss your cheek,

As The World GOES CRAZY, reaching A Peak,

Of unrest and excitement then, ebbing again,

AND DOING THAT FOREVER ON THE HEAD OF A PIN.”

[S]HE thought for a moment and said: “Well, maybe PEACE’sOVERRATED;

OK, Big [Girl]Boy, let’s DO IT; LET’S GET MATED,

And together we’ll weather The Storm and we’ll rest during any calm,

And we’ll be as rested as any, WHEN ‘THEY’ DROP THE BIG BOMB.”

And: ETERNITY with ___immy is my fond hope each day;

COME RAIN OR COME SHINE, inTheMorning IholdHer[Him]Close,

AndShout: (pause) “____immy, Yay!”
