“PETTING KITTY!”* a poem May 29, 2019 (Wednesday: Karaoke at “The Railroad Blues,” a night club at 10:00 P. M.)
Our pretty kitty’s clutching The-Southern-Wall!**
I’m-sure-our-kitty will-never fall,
Except IN LOVE – with life; we-must,
Love dear kitty! I hope she’ll trust,
That I will stroke her – in-a gentle way;
She pushes slightly – and I’ll pray:
“Please, My Love, please purr a-way,
On this-warm-and-blustery, near-Summer-day!”
There’s a hint of moisture – on “the grass,”
And-also-on-kitty’s lovely-a r s –
And-she-feels-[the]-swell!” I’ve often said.
The more I notice pussy purr!
Pretty kitty, please-let-me-in,
Into-your-trust, where few have been!
I kiss her tend-rly – on “the nose,” (pause)
And it is stiff and I suppose,
Of-course – [that]-the moisture-from-your-mouth,
Means-She’s-a-kitty of-[The] South-
As lilies bloom, in the month of May!
I guess that Easter must-have come too soon!
[She-of-course is-a-pussy, not a coon!]
But, IT’s CERTAINLY HERE, THAT-glorious “re-surrection,”
Which-prompts-kitty’s-interest, for-her-love of friction,
Referring-to her-tender predilection!
PRETTY KITTY ON THE WALL,
IN LOVE WITH LIFE; she’ll have “a ball!”
“Meow, meow – meow, meow!” there she goes,
Sipping from – the garden hose!
