How did Moud Ul Hasan Nuri get bail after he was charged with raping a 13-year-old boy he met online?

A man accused of raping a 13-year-old boy, he met online, in the front yard of the boy’s Sydney home has been confronted by angry locals after facing court.

Mound Ul Hasan Nuri, 40, appeared at Penrith Local Court today over the alleged sexual assault. He attempted to make a quick getaway before being met with a vocal crowd of people who had been passing by as he left the court.

How does someone who Is charged with brazenly raping a child, in that child’s front yard, get bail?

What crime does someone have to be charged with before bail is deemed to be unjustifiable and inappropriate? We would think this alleged crime…

NSW Police allege the man met the teenager through social media on September 28 and began talking to him, exchanging pictures and personal details before planning to meet in person. It is understood the boy cut all contact with the man and then deleted the app.

At about 6.45pm on the same day, police allege the man went to the boy’s home and approached him while he was in the front yard, before pushing him to the ground and sexually assaulting him. The alleged attack was only stopped when the boy’s mother rushed to his aid, and the man ran to his car and fled the scene.
Good on you Mum!

The teenager was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, and police conducted a search warrant at home in Kellyville Ridge on Sunday before the man was arrested. He has since been charged with sexual intercourse without consent,

(Surely this charge should be rape, “sexual intercourse without consent” is the definition of RAPE).

And he was granted strict conditional bail in Parramatta Bail Court on Monday, before his court appearance today where the judge decided the case should be heard at Blacktown Court. His bail was continued until his next court appearance on December 13th.

We understand that this man has been charged but has not yet had a trial and therefore the crime at this point in time is alleged. However, the police believe they have a case and have charged him with a grave crime.

So the point of our story is this…Why is someone who has been charged with such a predatory crime, a crime that allegedly escalated extremely quickly from online chat to rape, a rape allegedly committed in the child’s front yard, why is the alleged perpetrator trusted to be of good behaviour until he faces court again?

Why has he been given bail?

We honestly have no words when it comes to this outrage. How ANYONE can be granted bail after being charged with sexually assaulting a child is disgraceful, but after an alleged crime so brazen and so arrogantly carried out in the child’s front yard, his place of safety and sanctuary and the alleged perpetrator is still given bail, deemed an acceptable risk to the community … well, that is reprehensible.

It’s insulting, how can we as a community pretend to care about the safety of children and then time after time bail those who have allegedly raped our children.

We understand innocent until proven guilty, however when the alleged crime is so heinous and life-altering and it is perpetrated against those who are unable to protect themselves, taking a risk is just not acceptable. The stakes are too high.
Why are we gambling with our children’s safety?

If there is one thing we can hope for, it is that this story raises the profile of online safety for our children. In the wake of this case, authorities are urging parents and guardians to speak with their children about online safety, particularly during the school holidays in NSW.

We MUST monitor our children’s online habits closely. It is simply no longer an option to let them have online access without monitoring.
The cost can be too high.

Life is like a bunch of roses. Some sparkle like raindrops. Some fade when there's no sun. Some just fade away in time. Some dance in many colors. Some drop with hanging wings. Some make you fall in love. The beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Life you can be sure of, you will not get out ALIVE.(sorry about that)
