“A LOVE SICK PUPPY NAMED MATT!” a poem. August 5, 2018 (Sunday)
“What are you still here for?” “FOR ETERNITY!”
“But I kicked you out the door!” “But I still have this key!”
“THE KEY!! OMG! – you’ve got The Key to My Heart!
Give it back, you ol’ DOG, or – just stick-it-here-in-my-”cart!”
“OK! Here it is!” and I fetched it to you,
And you took it (or you thought so!) But, when you opened to view,
The key in your palm, it was back in my lap!!
“GIVE ME MY KEY BACK; CUT OUT ALL OF THIS CRAP!
You MAGICIAN; you MUSICIAN; you Love-Sick Puppy Dog!
LEAVE ME ALONE!” “OK! You want some spiked, holiday egg nog?”
“NO! I don’t want your egg nog – or your affection!
I’m going off now – in this other direction!”
And, as she did turn, the scene shifted LIKE THAT!
She ran into my muzzle; I AM – Her WELCOME MATT!! (Just call me Matt for short!)
I AM THE DOG, SHE JUST CAN’T AVOID, THE ROVER OF HER DREAMS;
I AM HER SILLY, LOVE-STRUCK PUPPY, & SOMETIMES SHE SCREAMS:
“Bloody HELL! Leave me alone!”
“OK, Honey, but I LOVE to ‘bone!’ “
“I can’t stand IT – your attention!”
“OK, Honey, and did I mention:
CRAZY FOR YOU!?”
“Ya,-I-know,” said my handler; “ I kinda like you too!”
🙂 – Really? Woof, woof!
