Vladimir Horowitz,

Vladimir Horowitz, born in Russia at the beginning of The 20th Century, is recognized as one of the greatest pianists who ever lived! Despite a very “full” career and enthusiastic public reception in, almost, all respects, he, at time, doubted whether he was any good at all and, actually, withdrew from doing any performances, sometimes for long, long periods of time, for instance, when he was in his early 30’s, again, when he was in his 50’s, in his mid-60’s and, finally, in his early 80’s – He died in his mid-80’s, and this is a concert he did a couple years before he passed away. My hero! Tears! 🙂

It is unclear if Horowitz ever wanted to be a pianist! When younger, it is reported he just wanted to be a composer; he played piano in public to help his hungry family!”
