“I don’t believe in a next life!” Ed Lauer said-to-me!
“I don’t believe in an afterlife!” He seemed to have such glee!
I don’t-even believe in THIS life!” And the others walked away.
But I stayed with ONE E.L.,
And we began to pray.
And it occurred
On that shining, golden day,
That this man might be (like) Jesus,
‘Cause translations (are) bad, alway –
“So, do you believe in anything?” I said, inquiringly.
Believe in LOVE – (pause)
And I believe in Thee!”
And, on that fateful morning, two non-souls shared this life,
Provided by (an) Anomaly –
Which is never filled with strife.
‘Twas just a conversation, or, perhaps, no talk at all,
Just two aspects of THE WHOLE (?)
That, maybe, “dropped the ball!”
And let it roll –
To where it will –
AND LAUGHED ALONG THE WAY,
Two belligerent non-souls,
On that glorious, fun-filled day.
