We suffer more from imagination than from reality.
What we see is illusion and what we don’t see is reality. It is really very difficult to decide whether it is the illusion from which we are suffering or deriving pleasure. Reality is laughing from the sidelines . It is a dream or a mirage or a wild goose chase or we are simply labouring under the misconception between the pain and bliss.
Voltaire considered ‘ Illusion’ as the first of all pleasures whereas Albert Einstein looked at reality a persistent illusion. Anyways, one half of our heart is convinced that some wishes would never be fulfilled and the second half is inclined to hope against hope . There may be pleasant surprises on the journey of life.
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters as compared to what lies within us is the opinion of almost all the philosophers.
God gave us the gift of life, it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well. The meaning of life is to find out our gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.
Pleasure may come from illusion but real happiness comes only out of reality. The only caution is not to be bogged down by the preliminaries and technicalities but to have the hope and strength to realise our dreams. Wait, have patience, smile, express gratitude and observe meditative silence. Magic things are waiting to happen.
