FACTS OF GROWING UP IS NEVER EASY TO DO
The Innocence of school days brings on all these horror times of working then the world is full of Stepping stones.A bully is a blustering, quarrelsome and overbearing sort. They never grew out of it; they acted that way in primary school, and it carried through to present day. They are often physically dominant, which makes up for their insecurities and deficiencies in other areas. (Like, say, brain power.) Every office has one. The trick is to know their buttons so you can discreetly and strategically push them to the delight of your co-workers.
If I asked you to to name all the things you loved –
HOW LONG WOULD IT TAKE TO NAME YOUSELF
DO YOU EVEN KNOW YOURSELF
HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT WHO YOU TRULY ARE
HAVE YOU EVER SAT IN A QUIET PLACE AND ASK YOU’RE SELF HOW YOU ARE TODAY
MAYBE YOU SHOULD BEGIN BY ASKING YOURSELF
YOU MAY START TO FIND OUT THE TRUTH
MAYBE YOU WILL DISCOVER HOW JUST UNQUESTIONABLY UNIQUE YOU ARÈ
When to Say Goodbye
If all goes well it will never happen.
The dry grass in the shade whispers
while the vines crunch underfoot,
releasing a bitter odor. A year ago
I led my dog to his death, the third
in five years. How such counting
precedes affection, dwindles ever
so slowly, one star winking out after
another, till only the morning gray
hangs above us, solemn, indefinite.
Voiceless. If I could cock my head
to howl, who would understand? Not
one dog or three, neither mother nor
mentor, not my friend’s sister nor her
father and his nephews, the two boys
belted safely in the back seat. No.
I walk downhill and closer to the creek,
where the vines are still green.
In the shade of a large cedar, a turtle
slips into the water and eases away.
